A vineyard picnic is one of the most underrated ways to spend a Cape afternoon: no rush, no tasting-room pace, just a blanket under the oaks and a good bottle. The estates on this page run their picnics properly - curated baskets with local cheeses, cured meats, fresh breads and seasonal fruits, matched to two or three of the estate's wines. Most offer both classic and vegetarian baskets and can accommodate dietary requirements with a few days' notice.
